The handlebar has a wheel-side bearing (12), a body-side bearing (14) and a handlebar base (16) extended between the two bearings. A constriction (18) and an insert (20) are formed and dimensioned such that, when exceeded, a predetermined maximum force deforms the handlebar base in the area of the constriction. The first fiber reinforced plastic inner layer (26) is made by a fiber-reinforced plastic, particularly carbon fibers, glass fibers or aramid fiber. The insert is made from a ductile material with high elongation, particularly from steel, aluminum material or titanium material.
