Cylinder liner for a stroke piston combustion engine

DRIVE March 5, 2014
Source
The cylinder liner has a piston that is disposed in the operating and installation state between a top dead center and a bottom dead center, such that the piston is movable to-and fro along a cylinder axis (A) of the cylinder liner. The upper side of the piston is limited together with a running surface of the cylinder liner and a combustion chamber arranged on a cylinder cover. A cooling system (4) is designed thermally asymmetric for the asymmetric cooling of the cylinder liner. The cooling system is provided in a cylinder wall of the cylinder liner in a predeterminable area.
