Source
A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass ply (10) extending from one bead structure (5) to another bead structure. Each bead structure (5) comprises a plurality of circumferentially wound wires or filaments defining a cross-sectional profile of a bead (21). The profile has a height to width ratio greater than 1 and a bead orientation angle (³) in a range of from 30 degrees to 60 degrees. The bead orientation angle (³) is the angle between a longitudinal axis of a radial cross section of the bead (21) and the radial direction (R) of the tire (1). The height is the height of the cross-sectional profile of the bead (21) along said longitudinal axis and the width is the width of the cross-sectional profile of the bead (21) perpendicular to said longitudinal axis.
