Bead core-apex subassembly, pneumatic tire therewith, and method of manufacturing a bead core-apex subassembly

A bead core-apex subassembly is disclosed. The subassembly (5) comprises an annular bead core (20), a flipper (21) and an apex (23), wherein the flipper (21) is wrapped about the bead core (20) such that it encloses the bead core (20). The apex (23) is in contact with the flipper (21) and comprises at least a first segment (32) and a second segment (32'). The first segment (32) has a composition different from the composition of the second segment (32'). Also, a pneumatic comprising such a bead core-apex subassembly (5) is disclosed and a method of manufacturing the bead core-apex subassembly (5).
