Method and device for controlling fuel injection into an internal combustion engine

The method involves injecting a fuel quantity in a combustion chamber of a cylinder (12) of an internal combustion engine (11) during an intake stroke of the cylinder. Another fuel quantity is injected in the combustion chamber during a compression stroke of the cylinder. The injection of the latter fuel quantity in the combustion chamber has an injection of a portion of fuel quantity and another portion of fuel quantity in the combustion chamber. An independent claim is included for a device for controlling a fuel injection in an internal combustion engine of a vehicle.
