Drive device for tandem axles

The driving device has an axle bracket arranged on a frame of a vehicle, where a tandem box is mounted on the axle bracket in a rotating manner. The torque is transferred from a drive shaft to a tandem axle drive through a double planetary gearing. The planetary wheels (48,50) are supported on an integrally formed protection cage (68) of the double planetary gearing through a planetary bolt (56). The protection cage is formed as a casting component from a light metal or light metal alloy. The planetary wheels and the planetary pins are associated with a planetary wheel pair (42).
