Cable for rail assemblies

The cable has an electrical conductor (L) that is comprised of a copper core (6) which is wound around a jacket made of insulating material. Several layers (7) surrounding the copper core are provided between a steel wire (9) and a copper wire (8). The number of steel wires is higher than the number of copper wires. The twisting direction of copper and steel wires around the core, is opposite to the twisting direction of the layers surrounding the core.
