Flexible shaft with a core wire with reduced elasticity

DRIVE December 29, 2004
Source
The shaft (1) has steel wires (3) helically wound around a brass or copper wire (2). The copper wire has elasticity and resilience characteristics lower than that of the steel wire. The steel wires are arranged to form wire strips (4). The strips are superimposed one above the other around the copper wire. The winding produces some patterns on an outer surface of the shaft. An independent claim is also included for an adjusting system for a seat of a vehicle.
