[0002] [Solution] A renewable energy storage system that stores renewable energy, includes: an electrical power generation means (2) that converts renewable energy (1) into electrical power; an electrical storage means (3) that stores the electrical power; a hydrogen production means (4) that produces hydrogen using the electrical power from the electrical power generation means (2) and/or the electrical power stored in the electrical storage means (3); a hydrogenation means (5) that adds the hydrogen produced by the hydrogen production means (4) to the unsaturated hydrocarbon; a saturated hydrocarbon storage means (7) that stores the saturated hydrocarbon produced by the addition of the hydrogen to the unsaturated hydrocarbon; an unsaturated hydrocarbon storage means (8) that stores the unsaturated hydrocarbon; and an unsaturated hydrocarbon supply control means (6) that controls the supply of unsaturated hydrocarbon stored in the unsaturated hydrocarbon storage means (8) to the hydrogenation means (5).
