The method involves checking whether an activation criterion for an automatic driving dynamics intervention is satisfied by a control device (10) and outputting control signals in case the activation criterion is satisfied. A remaining travel time for one of crossing or reaching a lateral lane line of a travelled lane is ascertained. A deactivation criterion for ending the automatic driving dynamics intervention is checked during the automatic driving dynamics intervention, where deactivation criterion includes a comparison of an alignment of a vehicle (1) to a lane direction.
