Converter for operating an electric drive motor of an electric vehicle, motor vehicle and method for operating the converter

The converter (10) has an alternating-current (AC) output (22) attached with a drive motor (12) over an inverter circuit (24), and coupled with a direct-current (DC) voltage terminal (16) for attaching a traction battery (14). An AC input (32) is coupled with the DC voltage terminal over a rectifier circuit, where the AC input is different from the AC output. The rectifier circuit comprises rectifying units (58, 60) that are provided with inductive circuit elements (50, 52). The inductive circuit elements are formed by a secondary coil (46) of a transformer (44) and a primary coil (42).
