Sulfur-crosslinkable rubber mixture comprises hexamethoxymethylmelamine and/or hexamethylenetetramine, where the rubber mixture is free of methylene acceptor reactants. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle pneumatic tire comprising the above vulcanized rubber mixture.
