The device has a unit for fastening a seat (1) at a seat rail (2), where the unit has a magnet (4) and a magnetizable profile. The magnetizable profile is formed as a magnetic brace complementary to the magnet. Another unit is provided for counteracting a displacement of the seat along the seat rail. The displacement counteracting unit comprises an adhesive coating (3), in which a holding element is pressed. The seat rail has a groove, in which the adhesive coating is arranged. An independent claim is included for a rail vehicle with a floor.
