Motor vehicle with a seating bench

The car has a seat with a horizontal seat surface (1) and a vertical backrest (2). The seat surface and the vertical backrest are adjustable into a partition wall position and occupy a vertical position in the partition wall position. An upper edge (5) of the backrest is in contact with a roof (6) of the car in the partition wall position such that the backrest forms a partition wall together with the seat surface, where the partition wall separates a region behind the partition wall from another region in front of the partition wall in a travelling direction of the car.
