Method for setting a desired brake force on a traction drive

DRIVE July 31, 2013
Source
The method involves adjusting the gear transmission ratio of the continuously variable gear for adjusting the desired braking force, such that a predetermined engine speed results. A target value for the engine speed is determined from the desired braking force. The target value for the engine speed is determined based on instantaneous engine speed, an instantaneous driving speed, an efficiency of the continuously variable gear or the time. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a computer unit for executing the desired braking force setting method; (2) a traction drive with a mechanical gear; and (3) a computer program with a program code unit.
