SMART GRID ONTOLOGY UPDATE DEVICE

According to an embodiment, an ontology update device, which updates a smart grid ontology including an equipment class, individual class properties, or connection information, is provided. The device includes a storage unit configured to store the smart grid ontology including two or three higher-order layers within a domain ontology layer including specs of the equipment class and the properties, a meta-ontology layer including specs of metadata of the class and the properties, and an axiomatic ontology layer including the metadata specs. The device includes an access control unit configured to control access to the ontology so that access is allowed only from a DB or an adapter of a lower-order layer existing in a limited number of specific nodes for a node of each higher-order layer. In addition, the device includes an update unit configured to update the domain ontology layer so that the domain ontology layer is consistent with the meta-ontology layer.
