The method involves detecting a star image cutout by star sensors (2,3,4) by a lens and a photosensitive matrix detector, where the star sensors are provided with the same or different visual fields and different viewing directions. An evaluation unit (5) is provided for calculating the location information of a flying object on the basis of a comparison of the detected star image cutout with a star catalog. The star sensors stand with each other in signal connection over a bus system (8) and are exchanged over the data for improving the measuring accuracy.
