Rim for cycle wheel and method for manufacturing same

The method involves extruding a rectilinear section that comprises side flanges (5a) and a bridge (6) connecting the flanges to each other and placed opposite to a rotation axis of a wheel. The section is bent to form a hoop. Ends of the hoop of the section are assembled to one another. Holes are drilled through the bridge for fastening spokes (4a1, 4a2) of the wheel. A median zone of an outer surface of the bridge is machined over 95% of circumference of a rim (3), where the median zone includes transverse width greater than 4 mm measured perpendicular to a median plane of the rim. An independent claim is also included for a rim.
