The method involves controlling a throttle valve (16) in a position, such that the throttle valve is almost fully closed. A pressure controlled in a suction pipe (3) is detected. An injection valve (4) is actuated, such that a starting injection quantity is injected, when a pressure threshold value is reached or exceeded.
