The water box (6) has an air inlet opening (7) which is connected to a closed water separation chamber (27) through a feed line (33). The water separation chamber has a base (28), a sidewall (29), a top wall (11), a water outlet opening (24) and an air outlet opening (38). A pre-separation process unit (10) is arranged in the feed line, through which the water is discharged outside of the closed-water separator. An independent claim is included for motor car.
