Method for machine state monitoring

The method (10) involves monitoring a measured and calculated machine parameter during the operation of a machine. The machine is closed on a machine state change, particularly on a critical operating condition, if the monitored machine parameter reaches a limit value. The monitored machine parameter is monitored as a function of another machine parameter in defined operating point areas of the machine.
