The bumper assembly (1) has deformation elements (4-11) that are coupled to the longitudinal beams. The transverse support structures (3,12,13) in a load plane (E2), are arranged below or above a transverse support structure (2) in a load plane (E1). Vertically adjacent left and right end portions (14-17,20-23) of the transverse support structures are projected laterally beyond the deformation elements. Left and right end portions are equipped with supporting elements (18,18a,19,19a) associated with deformation elements, which are connected with each other.
