The method involves detecting lateral accelerations influencing a body (1) of a motor car by a lateral acceleration sensor (24), and transmitting lateral acceleration signals to a control unit (23). The lateral acceleration signals are compared with a stored lateral acceleration spectrum. An anti-rolling moment is not generated if the lateral accelerations are within the lateral acceleration spectrum. The anti-rolling moment is actively generated if the lateral accelerations exceed control thresholds, where the thresholds are adjusted based on quality of a driving path.
