A four-stroke engine (1, 201, 301) includes a cylinder head (3) in which a combustion chamber (12), an intake port (13, 413, 513) that communicates with the combustion chamber (12), and a housing hole (20, 320) that passes through the combustion chamber (12) and through the intake port (13, 413, 513) are provided, and a fuel injector (18, 218) that supplies a mist of fuel directly to the combustion chamber (12) by jetting the mist of fuel toward the combustion chamber (12). The fuel injector (18, 218) includes at least a portion that is disposed at the intake port (13, 413, 513) and at the housing hole (20, 320).
