The method involves performing driving engagement for regulating speed of motor vehicle (1) using driver assistance system (15). An additional locking unit is provided on clutch actuator for automatically opening and closing clutch (11). The desired clutch slipping operation speed is determined and clutch is controlled accordingly. The clutch slip coupling between drag torque of motor and clutch gliding operation delay is performed, without triggering brake system of motor vehicle. The clutch is partially opened so that regulated power transmission is requested through power train. An independent claim is included for motor vehicle.
