Method and means of controlling and regulating a vehicle

The method for controlling or regulating a motor vehicle involves the steps of determining an absolute speed (vabs) of the motor vehicle, as well as further vehicle condition/status parameters, and simultaneously determining several acceleration intermediate values for the vehicle from the determined vehicle condition parameters. The desired longitudinal acceleration (a_Lsoll) is also determined in proportion to the determined acceleration intermediate values, and regulating the vehicle actuators according to the determined desired longitudinal acceleration. The desired longitudinal acceleration is determined in such a manner, that from the acceleration intermediate values a weighted mean is formed. The desired longitudinal acceleration can be the smallest value selected from the acceleration intermediate values.
