The method involves forming a raisable and lowerable platform (17) in all stroke positions of a predetermined position, where a load of a loading platform (11) is monitored. The deformation of the raisable and lowerable platform is detected, and the load is monitored in dependence on the detected deformation. Absolute angle of inclination of a region (33) of the raisable and lowerable platform is detected by sensors (S1, S2) arranged at the region of the raisable and lowerable platform, where the platform is secured at a lifting gear for lifting and lowering the platform. An independent claim is also included for a monitoring assembly.
