Method and device for mounting a pneumatic tyre with the use of a robot

The method involves loosening a pneumatic tire after assembly of a tire bead of grippers (2). The pneumatic tire is moved into a starting position for mounting another tire bead by assembly tools using actuators, which are arranged at a clamping apparatus. Multiple fitting tools are brought into a working position at a rim and guided on a rim flange (8) by a rotating movement of the grippers around an axis of the rim, which is held at the clamping apparatus. The latter tire bead is striped over the rim flange using the fitting tools. An independent claim is also included for a device for assembling a pneumatic tire on a drop-base rim of a vehicle wheel.
