Hydro-mechanical drives

DRIVE September 26, 2012
Source
The drive has a mechanical distribution gearbox arranged between a drive shaft (1) and an output shaft (7). A continuously adjustable hydrostatic transmission works together with the distribution gearbox. A supporting frame (36) of the hydrostatic transmission has a recess (69) opened transverse to the shaft, where one of the shafts extends through the recess. A hydrostatic unit (23) of the transmission is mounted at a side of the recess. The frame is fixed in an outer housing, and forms a flange bearing for accommodating the hydrostatic unit.
