Height-adjustable vehicle seat

The seat has a seat part designed in a height-adjustable manner, and a backrest. The seat part is pre-stressed in a raised position by a spring element (3) i.e. torsion spring, where spring force of the spring element is automatically adjusted based on weight of seat passengers. An occupancy sensor (7) e.g. electrical sensor, determines whether the seat part is occupied or not, where the sensor is connected directly or indirectly with the spring element. The spring element is strained through rotation of a tappet (8) against a clockwise direction.
