The seat has a longitudinally-adjustable or pivotable sitting part (3) and a pivotable back rest (4) forming a triggering arrangement whose operation by a force on the backrest triggers sitting part movement, whereby the backrest when subjected to force acts on a force sensor (9) that outputs a signal to a sitting part movement/pivoting controller (11). The sensor is arranged in or near fittings (6) with which the backrest is mounted on the sitting part.
