POSITIVE ELECTRODES AND RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERIES INCLUDING THE SAME

Disclosed are a positive electrode, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the positive electrode. The positive electrode includes a current collector, and a positive electrode active material layer on the current collector. The positive electrode active material layer includes a positive electrode active material including a lithium transition metal composite compound, and an irreversible positive electrode additive including at least one of a lithium iron-based oxide, a lithium cobalt-based oxide, and a lithium nickel-based oxide.
