Method of operating a motor vehicle

The method involves adjusting an air execution of a brake (10) depending on an operating state of a motor vehicle. The air execution is reduced to zero while stabilizing the engine. The air execution is reduced to zero by undercutting a predetermined ambient temperature for a predetermined driving distance after starting of the motor vehicle.
