Electromotor with parallel series connection of partial windings and method for operating same

The motor has a partial winding associated to an electrical phase. Another partial winding is associated to the same electrical phase. A switching device switches the partial windings in parallel and series. The partial windings are switched in parallel in a nominal operation and in series during an increased torque requirement. A third partial winding is associated to the same electrical phase. The switching device switches the third partial winding in parallel and series with one of the former and the latter partial windings. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle (2) a method for operating a vehicle.
