Improved electronic management system for a vehicle

The system (S) has a set of door control units (2a-2d) for locking or unlocking doors (P1-P4) of a vehicle, respectively. A set of interface units (3a-3d) associated to the doors detects external intervention of a user of the vehicle and communicates with an authentication unit (12). A communication network (5) e.g. local interconnect network (LIN) or controller area network (CAN)type multiplexing network, allows communication between the door control units and a central control unit (1). Each interface unit is controlled directly by the associated door control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for utilizing an electronic vehicle management system.
