Lighting unit

The lighting unit (10) has a mirror head that extends to housing (12) and a light disc (11) extending along the longitudinal axis of a vehicle outside mirror. The housing has illumination elements (14,14') to illuminate light as turn signals in a output region (5) as specified by the legal regulations. The illumination elements illuminate output region (6) closer to the vehicle so that the warning indicator is visible to driver of other vehicle.
