Portable electronic apparatus

The apparatus has an actuating mechanism (17) for actuating an electric generator (22) using energy produced by relative movements of a part and another part (3). The mechanism includes a primary spring energy accumulator (20) to store energy produced by the movements. The mechanism includes a releasing unit e.g. processor, to release the energy stored in the accumulator and to provide the energy to the generator and a secondary spring energy accumulator (21) of the mechanism. The releasing unit releases the energy stored in the secondary accumulator and provides the energy to the generator. The releasing unit includes a clutching unit i.e. clutch (19), for selectively blocking or releasing the accumulators.
