Wireless provision of electricity metering data from an electricity charging event

The invention allows providing electricity metering data from an electricity charging event wirelessly and automatically via a service platform to a billing system of an electricity company so that the electricity company can then add the used electricity to the electricity bill of the user. The invention provides an apparatus that comprises a charging cable for charging electricity from a charging socket, a near field communication tag reader for reading a charging socket identifier comprised in a near field communication tag associated with the charging socket, an electricity meter for metering the amount of the charged electricity, an identity module comprising a user identifier, and a wireless transmitter for wirelessly transmitting, to a service platform, charging data comprising the read socket identifier, the user identifier, and metering data comprising information about the metered amount of the charged electricity.
