Method for controlling the regeneration of a particle filter

The method involves regulating quantities of injected fuel from a predetermined temperature threshold in particle filter (9) based on temperature and a rate of oxygen in exhaust gas in inlet of the filter. The rate of oxygen is limited below the determined concentration threshold in protection zones of filter against risks of runaway of regeneration corresponding to low flow of exhaust gas. Injections of the fuel are realized in protection zones so as to regulate the rate of oxygen in inlet of filter without generating engine torque.
