Driver assistance system for a motor vehicle and method for operating same

The method involves determining a consumption parameter e.g. absolute consumption parameter, of a motor vehicle for a preset operation mode e.g. driving route. Fuel consumption of the motor vehicle is reproduced by the consumption parameter during the operation mode. A deterioration parameter e.g. tire deterioration parameter, of the motor vehicle is determined for the operating mode. Deterioration of the motor vehicle or a part e.g. engine, of the motor vehicle during the operation mode is reproduced by the deterioration parameter. The parameters are displayed for a motor vehicle guide. An independent claim is also included for a driver assistance system for a motor vehicle for supporting a motor vehicle guide during selection of a consumption reducing operation mode.
