The reinforced ply comprises a reinforcing structure (141) comprising at least one layer (300) of an open construction woven or knitted fabric having warp yarns (311) extending in a first direction and weft yarns (312) of the reinforced ply (14) extending in the radial direction or at least substantially in the radial direction.
