A tire with a metallic belt reinforcement

A tire comprising a carcass (22) having at least one reinforced ply (14), a tread (12) disposed radially outward of the carcass (22), and a belt structure (16) disposed radially between the carcass (22) and the tread (12) is disclosed. The belt structure comprises a layer (200) of crimped metallic cords (210). Also, a method of manufacturing such a tire is disclosed. The method comprises forming the belt structure (16) as an annular ring and slipping over or appling the belt structure (16) over the carcass (22) in a one step process.
