Assembly for determining the angular position of a towed vehicle relative to a towing vehicle

The assembly has a distance sensor (3) emitting and receiving a pair of telemetric signals (Sr) e.g. laser signals. A processing unit processes the signals reflected by a towed vehicle (1) and received by the sensor. A computing unit calculates angular position of the vehicle relative to a towing vehicle (2) from the signals. A determination unit determining angle of trajectory of the towing vehicle includes a measuring sensor (21) for measuring angle of a steering wheel (4) of the towing vehicle. The processing unit cooperates with the determination unit to calibrate the telemetric signals.
