Vehicle towing device

The vehicle towing device comprises a support assembly (TA), which is formed at an end opposite to the towing vehicle (SF) for lifting an axle of a towed vehicle from the ground (BF) and is adjustable in height by a lifting unit arranged on the towing vehicle. A sensor arrangement is provided for monitoring the position of the support assembly relative to the ground.
