Nickel-metal hydride accumulator comprises: positive nickel hydroxide electrodes (5) and negative metal hydride electrodes (6) separated from positive nickel hydroxide electrodes; an alkaline electrolyte (9) surrounding the positive and negative electrodes; a thermal arrangement (19), which increases a specific thermal capacity of the accumulator and is formed by an additional electrolyte volume; and a plastic material housing, which receives the positive and negative electrodes and the electrolyte, where the housing comprises a pressure relief valve (4).
