Device for securing cargo on a cargo vehicle

The device has sliding elements (7) e.g. sliding shoes, guided along vertically arranged rails (5), and a motor (12) e.g. electromotive drive, and/or a drive unit e.g. mechanical limit switch, assigned to the sliding elements. The sliding elements are connected with a cable (9) e.g. endless rope, where the cable is wound on a drum (10). The drum is provided on a rotational axis of the drive, and the sliding elements are guided in a longitudinal groove (6) of the rails. An electrical switch is assigned to the drive. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for securing load on a loading area (2) a strip or sheet-shaped securing element for securing load on the loading area.
