Method and fixing assembly for correct fixing of a device to a structural section of a motor vehicle

The method involves providing a tolerance compensation element (22) having a screw unit (16) and joining the compensation element with a structural element (14) using bonding material (36) while adjusting position of the compensation element. Adhesive bonding or ultrasonic welding process is performed for joining the compensation element. A mounting object (12) is fastened to the compensation element over the screw unit.
