CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

DRIVE January 25, 2012
Source
A control device for an engine (1), provided with: an EGR mechanism (2) for recirculating exhaust gas to the air intake system of the engine (1); a fuel injection valve (3) for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of the engine (1); a fuel injection controller (24) for controlling the fuel injection performed by the fuel injection valve (3); and an EGR stop unit (23) for stopping the operation of the EGR mechanism (2) when an idling operation of the engine (1) continues for a predefined time. When the EGR stop unit (23) has stopped the operation of the EGR mechanism (2), the fuel injection controller (24) increases the number of times of the fuel injection performed by the fuel injection valve.
