Combustion engine with a charging device for compressing an operating gas

The combustion engine has a charging device (2) for performing volumetric flow of intake air, and an intercooler (3) for cooling the intake air. A bypass line (4) is provided with branch point (5) arranged in flow direction of intake air and behind the charging device, and junction (6) arranged in flow direction of intake air and behind the intercooler. A non-return valve (9) is provided in bypass line to control the flow of intake air.
