Loading device for compacting charge air for a combustion engine

The device has a displacement spiral (5) connected with a loading shaft (6) between a front bearing (2) and a rear bearing (3) of the loading shaft by an eccentric cam arrangement. An externally drivable drive component i.e. wheel, is provided outside a housing (1) of the device. The loading shaft is connectable with the externally drivable drive component by a controllable clutch organ (4). Connections of drive elements and/or connecting elements working between the loading shaft and the displacement spiral are arranged with the loading shaft.
